Chelsea Begins Battery Installation for Community Microgrid Project at City Hall Lot
The City of Chelsea has initiated the installation of a battery energy storage system in the City Hall parking lot, a key phase of its community microgrid project. The installation, which is expected to last three weeks, includes pad installation and trenching work. Temporary parking closures and restricted access to the lot will occur during this period.

Chelsea has started the installation of a battery energy storage system in the City Hall parking lot, part of its community microgrid project. The three-week operation includes pad installation next to the Emergency Communications Center and trenching across the parking lot.
During this time, four parking spots near the EOC generator and three in front of the gas meter will be closed. Access to the lot will be restricted at times, with detours for those parking on either side of the lot.
