Cheong Wa Dae Restructures Senior Staff to Enhance Communication and Reform
President Lee Jae Myung's staff reshuffle at Cheong Wa Dae initiates the second phase of his administration, aiming to address election aftermath and push reforms. Key appointments focus on communication, civil affairs, and social issues, indicating a strategic shift to stabilize governance and advance policy initiatives.

On March 21, President Lee Jae Myung appointed new Senior Secretaries for Public Communication, Civil Affairs, and Social Affairs, launching the second phase of his administration. This personnel reshuffle follows the nomination of Prime Minister-designate Han Sung-Sook and signals an immediate response to declining approval ratings post the June 3 local elections.
Three of the eight senior secretaries directly reporting to the Chief of Staff were replaced, with plans for further changes in key departments. The intent is to drive reforms in social sectors, including prosecutorial and defense reforms. Maintaining continuity, key leadership positions remain unchanged, ensuring a consistent policy direction on economic initiatives, AI, and national development.
