Cherat Cement Invests Rs. 1.85B in 25MW Battery Storage and 5.4MW Solar Plant in Pakistan
Cherat Cement Company Limited has announced a Rs. 1.85 billion investment in a 25 MW Battery Energy Storage System and a 5.4 MW solar power plant at its Nowshera facility in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with completion expected within six months. This initiative follows the commissioning of a 6.065 MW solar plant last year and aims to mitigate rising electricity costs amidst Pakistan's increasing shift towards renewable energy sources.

Cherat Cement Company Limited announced an investment of Rs. 1.85 billion for a 25 MW Battery Energy Storage System and a 5.4 MW solar power plant at its Nowshera facility in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The project, approved by the Board of Directors, is expected to complete within six months.
This investment follows the commissioning of a 6.065 MW solar plant at the same location last year and aims to reduce rising electricity costs. Pakistan is experiencing a shift towards solar energy, with an installed capacity of 33 gigawatts in solar PV panels, prompting many companies to adopt renewable sources.
