Chhattisgarh Proposes Renewable Energy Tariffs for FY 2025-26
The Chhattisgarh State Electricity Regulatory Commission has proposed new levelized tariffs for renewable energy projects in FY 2025-26, with solar project rates decreasing to ₹3.39/kWh, while tariffs for small and mini hydro projects will see increases. Specifically, small hydro projects under 5 MW will rise to ₹7.57/kWh, while those between 5 MW and 10 MW will be set at ₹7.80/kWh. The Commission is seeking stakeholder comments on these proposals by January 20, 2026.

The Chhattisgarh State Electricity Regulatory Commission (CSERC) has proposed levelized tariffs for renewable energy projects to be commissioned in FY 2025-26. Solar projects (500 kW to 2 MW) are set at ₹3.39 (~$0.038)/kWh, down from ₹4.34 (~$0.048)/kWh in FY25.
Small hydro projects below 5 MW will have a tariff of ₹7.57 (~$0.084)/kWh, up from ₹7.05 (~$0.078)/kWh, while those between 5 MW and 10 MW will see a tariff of ₹7.80 (~$0.087)/kWh, increased from ₹6.33 (~$0.070)/kWh. Projects from 10 MW to 25 MW are proposed at ₹7.42 (~$0.082)/kWh, up from ₹5.97 (~$0.066)/kWh.
Mini and micro hydro projects up to 2 MW will have the highest tariff of ₹8.07 (~$0.090)/kWh, increased from ₹7.55 (~$0.084)/kWh. The Commission invites stakeholder comments by January 20, 2026, for tariffs applying to projects achieving commercial operation in FY26.
