Chile and Panama are creating a bilateral commission to enhance cooperation on common interests including trade, security, transportation, and agriculture. This initiative was announced following a meeting between Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino and Chilean President José Antonio Kast in Valparaíso.

The collaboration will also consider Chile's mining sector expertise, with Mulino noting that specialists from Chile's National Copper Corporation (Codelco) will be involved in future discussions. The meeting included key ministers and business leaders from both countries, emphasizing the importance of strengthening ties.
