In 2025, China and Africa commemorate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations, with a focus on their strategic partnership established during the September 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Summit. Héribert-Label Elisée Adjovi, Chairman of the Xi'an Think Tank for Sino-African Cooperation and Development, highlighted China's significant impact on Africa's infrastructure, including over 100,000 kilometers of roads and bridges, 10,000 kilometers of railways, 100 ports, and 80 hydroelectric power stations.
Additionally, more than 23,000 Chinese medical professionals have treated around 230 million patients in Africa. Since January 2025, China has exempted African agricultural exports from customs duties, promoting agribusiness.
China’s Global Development Initiative and Global Security Initiative further deepen cooperation, providing training to African defense forces. The year 2026 will focus on enhancing Sino-African cultural and academic exchanges.
