China's 15th Five-Year Plan Enhances Hydrogen Energy Applications
The NDRC and National Energy Administration have released the 15th Five-Year Plan, boosting hydrogen energy integration in power systems. This plan outlines the expansion of hydrogen applications across various sectors, impacting the energy landscape significantly.

The 15th Five-Year Plan for New-Type Power System Development aims to enhance the integration of thermal, electric, and other energy sources, with a focus on hydrogen energy application. The initiative will promote technologies such as combined heat and power units, molten salt heat storage, and advanced thermal-electric conversion methods.
It highlights the expansion of hydrogen use in scenarios such as green electricity-to-hydrogen production, hydrogen storage, and co-firing in thermal power generation. This strategic direction suggests a shift towards integrating hydrogen in broader energy systems, potentially reshaping renewable energy consumption and advancing low-carbon goals.
