China has completed a successful test flight of a hydrogen-powered cargo aircraft, marking a significant step in sustainable aviation. This milestone demonstrates the feasibility of hydrogen propulsion systems in real-world applications, potentially advancing the hydrogen industry.

China's recent test flight of a hydrogen-powered cargo aircraft, featuring the domestically developed AEP100 engine, lasted 16 minutes, covering 22 miles at speeds of 137 mph. Weighing approximately 16,535 pounds, the aircraft performed all planned maneuvers successfully, confirming the engine's reliability.
This flight marks a transition from research to practical engineering in hydrogen aviation, potentially impacting green hydrogen production and infrastructure development. The technology may initially focus on low-altitude unmanned operations, with future applications expected in regional and larger passenger aircraft.
