China's NEA Promotes Enhanced New-Energy Integration and Consumption
China's National Energy Administration (NEA) emphasizes boosting new-energy consumption and generation. This initiative aligns with the 15th Five-Year Plan, targeting comprehensive improvements in power grid integration and renewable energy capabilities.

The National Energy Administration (NEA) of China has initiated measures to enhance new-energy grid integration and consumption as part of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30). As of April 2026, installed renewable energy capacity exceeded 2.4 billion kilowatts, comprising 60.5% of total generating capacity.
The NEA aims to improve capabilities in power grid connection, dispatching, and forecasting. In 2025, incremental electricity demand was fully met by green power, and 60% of global renewable capacity growth occurred in China. Projections for 2026 anticipate 300 million kilowatts of new wind and solar capacity, reinforcing the importance of renewable energy in China's industrial transition.
