China's Vice Premier Emphasizes Development of Salt Lake Industries and Disaster Response Capabilities

Zhang Guoqing, Vice Premier of China, underscored the importance of advancing high-quality industrial bases associated with salt lakes and improving disaster response mechanisms during a recent inspection in Qinghai province. His visit included assessment of industries such as magnesium, potassium fertilizers, and lithium batteries, as well as a smart mining management center.
He called for a balance between resource utilization and ecological protection, and for developing competitive industries tailored to local conditions. Additionally, Zhang inspected emergency housing and earthquake early warning centers in Xining, aiming to enhance natural disaster monitoring and response capacities.
