China's Yalong River Co. Launches 1 GW Solar Plant in Sichuan Province
Yalong River Hydropower Development Co., Ltd. has launched the 1 GW Suorong photovoltaic power station in Sichuan province, integrating solar power with hydropower from nearby facilities. The project, which features contributions from JA Solar and Yingli Solar, is part of a larger hydro-wind-solar energy initiative in the Yalong River region, which boasts a combined capacity of approximately 21 GW. Researchers from Yunnan Longyuan New Energy are also exploring new design methodologies for PV plants in mountainous areas.

Yalong River Hydropower Development Co., Ltd. has commissioned the 1 GW Suorong photovoltaic power station in Sichuan province, located at 4,600 m in Litang County. JA Solar supplied 808 MW of modules and Yingli Solar provided 406 MW.
The facility integrates solar power with hydropower from nearby SDIC-operated plants and is part of a broader hydro-wind-solar energy strategy. The combined capacity in the Yalong River region is approximately 21 GW, including the 1 GW Chabulang PV plant. Researchers from Yunnan Longyuan New Energy have proposed new design methodologies for PV plants in mountainous areas.
