Chinese Companies Plan Copper Mine Development in Lusaka Province

Sinomine Geological Engineering Resources Limited, a subsidiary of Sinomine Resource Group Co. Ltd., and Deco Luck Investments Limited have proposed a new underground copper mine in the Chiawa area of Kafue District, Lusaka Province.
The mining site is located approximately 102 kilometers from Kafue's central business district and is projected to have a lifespan of 15 years. The collaboration highlights increasing foreign investment in Zambia's mining sector, which could enhance local economic development. However, potential environmental risks associated with mining operations should be monitored.
