Chinese Wind Turbine Manufacturers Dominate Global Market Share in 2025
In 2025, Chinese wind turbine manufacturers occupied the top six global positions for new installed capacity, as reported by BloombergNEF. China's new wind power capacity increased by 51% year-on-year to 126 GW, making it the first market to surpass 100 GW in annual additions.
Total global new installations reached 169 GW. Goldwind Science & Technology led with 29.3 GW, followed by Envision Energy (20.9 GW), Ming Yang (18.9 GW), Windey (18.4 GW), Sany (13.5 GW), and Dongfang Electric (13.5 GW).
This marked a notable shift as Sany and Dongfang surpassed Vestas, positioning Chinese firms prominently in the market. Additionally, Chinese firms' domestic market reliance fell to 93%, highlighting their overseas expansion efforts, including Envision's agreement with Casa dos Ventos in Brazil for wind turbine supply and services.
