Chinese Wind Turbine Manufacturers Dominate Global Market Share in 2025
Chinese wind turbine makers claimed the top six global positions in new installed capacity in 2025, according to BloombergNEF. China's wind power capacity surged 51% to 126 GW, with total global installations at 169 GW. Goldwind Science & Technology led with 29.3 GW, followed by Envision Energy, Ming Yang, Windey, Sany, and Dongfang Electric. Chinese firms' reliance on domestic markets decreased to 93%, reflecting increased overseas expansion. Envision's deal in Brazil exemplifies this shift towards localized production.

In 2025, Chinese wind turbine manufacturers occupied the top six global positions for new installed capacity, as reported by BloombergNEF. China's new wind power capacity increased by 51% year-on-year to 126 GW, making it the first market to surpass 100 GW in annual additions.
Total global new installations reached 169 GW. Goldwind Science & Technology led with 29.3 GW, followed by Envision Energy (20.9 GW), Ming Yang (18.9 GW), Windey (18.4 GW), Sany (13.5 GW), and Dongfang Electric (13.5 GW).
This marked a notable shift as Sany and Dongfang surpassed Vestas, positioning Chinese firms prominently in the market. Additionally, Chinese firms' domestic market reliance fell to 93%, highlighting their overseas expansion efforts, including Envision's agreement with Casa dos Ventos in Brazil for wind turbine supply and services.
