CIP Initiates Construction of 300MW Patache Project in Chile
Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) has received final notice to proceed for the Patache battery energy storage project in Chile. This marks a significant investment in Latin America's energy infrastructure and aims to enhance grid resilience while reducing CO₂ emissions.

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) has issued the final notice to proceed for the Patache project, a 300MW/1,500MWh battery energy storage system in Chile. This construction authorization signifies a crucial advancement for CIP's Growth Markets Fund II and follows the operational success of the 220MW Arena BESS project.
Located near effective solar resources and existing transmission systems, Patache is designed to store excess solar energy and supply electricity during peak demand. The project is part of an international carbon offset program, aligning with Chile's decarbonization goals. The investment involves a consortium of co-investors with minority stakes, reflecting CIP's confidence in Chile's energy market.
