Cipher Mining Transforms Business Model with Long-term Hosting Contracts and Expansion Plans

DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE

Cipher Mining is shifting from solely being a Bitcoin miner to a provider of AI and high-performance computing infrastructure through long-term hosting contracts with hyperscalers. Key projects include a 15-year lease with Amazon Web Services for 300 MW, projected to generate approximately $5.5 billion in contract revenue over its duration, and a 10-year agreement with Fluidstack for 168 MW, expected to yield about $300 million in recurring annual revenue.

The company aims to achieve billions in recurring revenue by the end of 2026, supported by a development pipeline of 3.4 GW across eight locations. A recent acquisition of the Ulysses site in Ohio adds 200 MW and direct access to the PJM power market, with operations anticipated to begin in Q4 2027.

Cipher Mining has issued $333 million in senior notes to finance these capital-intensive projects, which are crucial for revenue realization. The company will present at the Needham Growth Conference on January 13, 2026, to provide updates on implementation timelines.
