Cisco Integrates Native Splunk into Nexus Dashboard for Enhanced Data Center Monitoring
Cisco has integrated Splunk IT Service Intelligence directly into its Nexus Dashboard, aiming to centralize analytics and security data for data center management. This architectural integration is designed to improve error detection and accelerate cause analysis while fostering collaboration between Network Operations (NetOps) and Security Operations (SecOps). The integration, which follows Cisco's $28 billion acquisition of Splunk in March 2024, allows for real-time insights without the latency and costs associated with external data transmission.

Cisco has announced the integration of Splunk IT Service Intelligence into the Nexus Dashboard, enhancing data center operational capabilities. The integration allows high-fidelity telemetry data, including anomalies and audit logs, to be processed directly within the Nexus environment, eliminating the need to send raw logs to a centralized data lake.
This change aims to improve collaboration between NetOps and SecOps teams by providing a shared view of network and security data. The integration is a key step following Cisco's $28 billion acquisition of Splunk, completed in March 2024, and aligns with Cisco's goal of achieving full-stack observability.
