CivicaMente Uniti filed a report to the prefect and Region requesting urgent technical checks on the municipal electric network to investigate the causes of frequent blackouts in Vellezzo and north-western Pavia. They raised concerns about a potential correlation between the blackouts and the activation of several data centers in the area.

The report was also sent to E-distribuzione, which manages the electricity distribution network. Despite recent upgrades to electrical substations aimed at improving network reliability, blackouts and voltage fluctuations continue to occur, causing significant inconvenience and damage to citizens. The committee seeks to ascertain any technical links between these disruptions and the new energy-intensive facilities, along with possible liabilities and compensation for affected residents.
