CLEANHYPRO Project Accelerates Digital Integration in Hydrogen Production
CLEANHYPRO outlines a strategy to enhance the efficiency and scalability of renewable hydrogen production through digital solutions. The project's focus on automation and standardization addresses the nine-fold increase in installed electrolyser capacity since 2021.

The CLEANHYPRO project aims to integrate digital solutions across the renewable hydrogen production electrolysis value chain, responding to a significant rise in electrolyser capacity since 2021. Key elements include digitalization in manufacturing and components, modeling and design, and leveraging technology for certification and operation, such as blockchain for renewable fuels certification.
The project plans four demonstrations and two open calls, with the first wave attracting ten applications from across Europe, resulting in six selections. Successful applicants receive services valued at up to €150,000 without fund transfers, reducing administrative burdens.
A second wave of open calls is anticipated later in 2026, further supporting SMEs in developing innovative technologies. CLEANHYPRO aims to establish a multi-centre technology infrastructure by October 2027, positioning itself as a critical enabler for industrial-scale hydrogen production.
