CleanSpark Acquires Land in Texas for AI and HPC Data Centers Amid Bitfarms' US Redomiciliation Plans

DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE

CleanSpark has signed an agreement to acquire 447 acres in Brazoria County, Texas, to develop large-scale AI and high-performance computing (HPC) data centers, adding 600 megawatts (MW) to its capacity and boosting total capacity to 890 MW. This expansion follows the company's strategy to leverage its existing power assets and strengthen its position in the AI infrastructure market.

Concurrently, Bitfarms, a Toronto-based bitcoin miner, is transitioning to the U.S. to enhance access to capital and broaden its investor base, following its full exit from Latin America. Cipher Mining has also expanded its footprint, acquiring a facility in Ohio and hiring senior executives, as the sector shifts towards AI and HPC. Texas's strong energy supply and favorable infrastructure make it an attractive location for companies diversifying from bitcoin mining to AI services.
