Cleveland Data Center Expansion to Displace Small Businesses
H5 Data Centers plans a significant expansion of its facility, acquiring additional land and displacing local businesses. The project will involve demolishing storefronts on St. Clair Avenue, which raises concerns about the impact on the community.

H5 Data Centers is expanding its Cleveland Data Center located at 1625 Rockwell Ave. by acquiring an additional 0.75 acres, resulting in the demolition of five retail spaces on St. Clair Avenue. The company, which operates a 351,000-square-foot facility, has already added generators to the site and will now remove existing storefronts to enhance its operations.
CLE-Infrastructure LLC, an H5 affiliate, purchased the properties in January 2025, previously owned by Green OZ LLC, which acquired them in January 2024 for approximately $1.5 million. The expansion raises concerns over the displacement of small businesses and the loss of retail spaces in a key Downtown area.
