Clinton County Area Plan Commission Recommends Rezoning for Proposed Data Center
The Clinton County Area Plan Commission has recommended rezoning 714.55 acres of agricultural land to light industrial for a proposed data center by Logistix Realty. The decision, following a public meeting with mixed resident opinions, includes key commitments such as sound limits and a closed-loop water system. The recommendation will be presented to the Clinton County commissioners for final approval at their next meeting on January 20.

The Clinton County Area Plan Commission (APC) voted to recommend the rezoning of 714.55 acres of agricultural land to light industrial (I-1) zoning for a proposed data center. The developer, Logistix Realty, submitted the request in mid-December.
The APC's decision followed a lengthy public meeting with mixed opinions from residents. Key commitments tied to the project include sound limits, a closed-loop water system, and plans for future building repurposing.
APC Executive Director Liz Stitzel emphasized the importance of these commitments for project approval. The project, which aims to develop in phases, could also facilitate a hydroponics farm. The APC's favorable recommendation will proceed to the Clinton County commissioners for final approval, with their next meeting scheduled for January 20.
