Clough Secures €116 Million Contract for Gas Plant in Australia
Clough, a subsidiary of Webuild, has been awarded a €116 million contract to design and build the Kwinana Gas Power Generation 2 (K2) plant. This project aligns with Australia's energy transition strategy.

Clough has secured a €116 million contract for the Kwinana Gas Power Generation 2 (K2) facility, a 220 MW open cycle gas turbine plant in Kwinana, 40 kilometers south of Perth, for AGL Energy. This project is part of a larger strategy by Webuild and Clough to support Australia's energy transition, which includes involvement in complex hydroelectric projects like Snowy 2.0.
The K2 plant will be located next to the existing Kwinana Swift Power Station, facilitating minimal connection work and leveraging existing energy infrastructure. The adoption of OCGT technology is expected to enhance operational efficiency.
