Clym Environmental Services to Launch Medical Waste Facility in Allegany County, Adding 75 Jobs
Clym Environmental Services is establishing a medical waste recycling facility in Allegany County, creating 75 jobs. This initiative will enhance sustainable waste management in Western Maryland and is backed by significant financial support.

Clym Environmental Services will open a 10,000-square-foot medical waste recycling facility in Allegany County, generating 75 new jobs. The project is funded by $1 million from TEDCO, $1.5 million from the Senator George C.
Edwards Fund, and a $1.5 million low-interest loan from the Allegany County Revolving Building Fund. Utilizing solar-generated ozone technology, the facility will sanitize biologically contaminated materials while preserving plastics for reuse, diverting waste from landfills.
This expansion aligns with Maryland's economic development goals and supports the biotechnology sector. Clym plans a grand opening celebration later this summer, reinforcing the region's commitment to the circular economy.
