CMBlu Achieves Unicorn Status with €1 Billion Valuation and €50 Million Series C Funding
CMBlu Energy has surpassed a €1 billion valuation after raising €50 million in Series C funding, led by Samsung Ventures. This investment supports the growth of its SolidFlow battery technology, crucial for energy storage solutions in data centers and industrial applications.

CMBlu Energy has reached a valuation exceeding €1 billion following a €50 million Series C funding round, with participation from Samsung Ventures and existing investors like STRABAG SE. The funding will bolster CMBlu's industrial scaling and facilitate the initial commercial deployments of its SolidFlow battery technology in Europe and the United States.
SolidFlow, designed for long-duration energy storage, uses non-flammable aqueous electrolytes and proprietary solid materials to enable flexible energy capacity deployment, essential amid rising electricity demands driven by AI and electrification. CMBlu’s innovation positions it as a key player in the energy transition, with a focus on sustainable solutions that minimize reliance on foreign supply chains.
The company also signed a framework agreement of 5 GWh with Uniper, enhancing grid flexibility. CMBlu, founded in 2014, is expanding its automated gigafactory in Alzenau and planning additional sites in the U.S. and Greece.
