CMP Advanced Mechanical Solutions to Invest $8.8 Million in Binghamton Facility Expansion
CMP Advanced Mechanical Solutions is modernizing its Binghamton facility with an $8.8 million investment, supported by an $850,000 grant from Empire State Development. The project will enhance manufacturing capabilities for battery storage components, allowing the creation of up to 62 new jobs. The modernization includes the installation of new equipment such as fiber lasers and vertical milling machining centers, and is expected to strengthen Binghamton's position in the battery manufacturing industry.

CMP Advanced Mechanical Solutions plans to invest $8.8 million to modernize its facility located at 90 Bevier St., Binghamton. Supported by an $850,000 grant from Empire State Development, the project aims to enhance the company's manufacturing capabilities for battery storage components, allowing it to produce most parts locally.
The modernization is anticipated to create up to 62 new jobs. Key equipment upgrades will include fiber lasers and vertical milling machining centers, with completion expected by June 2026. This initiative follows Binghamton's designation as a federal tech hub for battery manufacturing.
