ENERGY STORAGE
CMP Advanced Mechanical Solutions plans to invest $8.8 million to modernize its facility located at 90 Bevier St., Binghamton. Supported by an $850,000 grant from Empire State Development, the project aims to enhance the company's manufacturing capabilities for battery storage components, allowing it to produce most parts locally.
The modernization is anticipated to create up to 62 new jobs. Key equipment upgrades will include fiber lasers and vertical milling machining centers, with completion expected by June 2026. This initiative follows Binghamton's designation as a federal tech hub for battery manufacturing.
