The CNA reports a 60% increase in wholesale electricity prices in Italy, leading to widespread price hikes across various materials, notably copper, which rose nearly 40%, driven by strong demand in the automotive and data center sectors. The price of construction materials, such as bitumen and concrete, also increased by 18% and 10%, respectively.
Supply tensions are noted, with shipping costs rising by up to 3,000 euros per standard container. The electricity price in Italy averages 143 euros/MWh, compared to 102 euros in Germany, 63 euros in France, and 48 euros in Spain. The CNA emphasizes the need for support to improve energy autonomy for small enterprises.
