CNPC Launches Green Ethylene Project with 3 Million Ton Capacity
CNPC's new ethylene project increases capacity to over 3 million tons annually at Dushanzi Petrochemical. This initiative supports China's goal of enhancing domestic petrochemical production and reducing carbon emissions significantly.

China National Petroleum Corp (CNPC) has commenced operations at its new ethylene project, raising Dushanzi Petrochemical's annual capacity to over 3 million metric tons. The expansion adds 1.2 million tons per year and integrates renewable energy and carbon capture technologies to reduce emissions by 1.37 million tons annually.
The facility uses 1 billion kilowatt-hours of solar power, sourced from CNPC's Tarim Oilfield. Furthermore, it showcases advanced domestic technologies, achieving 100% localization in several production units.
The project, completed in 22 months, sets a new record for similar construction in China, emphasizing efficient modular construction and digital project management. This facility is pivotal for localizing advanced petrochemical technologies and furthering China's petrochemical industry.
