CNRS Launches MEUST Building in La Seyne-sur-Mer for Underwater Science Research
The new 2,450 m² MEUST facility, costing €10 million, enhances CNRS's capabilities in underwater sciences. It aims to foster collaboration with Ifremer and other institutions, positioning the region as a key player in marine research.

The MEUST building, a 2,450 m² facility in La Seyne-sur-Mer, is nearing completion with a total investment of €10 million from CNRS, local authorities, and the Region Sud. Designed by BBG architects, it will serve as a Mediterranean base for underwater research and technology, integrating advanced capabilities such as a large data center connected to the KM3net neutrino telescope project.
The facility will facilitate collaboration with Ifremer and other research entities, potentially supporting up to thirty professionals from various research disciplines. This development is critical for enhancing marine research visibility and attracting further investment in the region.
