Cogas and Thyssengas Sign Agreement for Hydrogen Infrastructure in Twente
A Twente-Germany consortium has taken a significant step towards hydrogen availability in the region. Cogas signed a contract with Thyssengas in Enschede to connect to the German hydrogen network near Nordhorn, committing to further developing hydrogen infrastructure in Twente. This connection will enable hydrogen transport to local businesses, crucial for industries needing high-temperature processes. The connection is expected to be completed by late 2027, with partners aiming for a sustainable hydrogen supply.

Cogas has signed a contract with Thyssengas to establish a connection to the German hydrogen network near Nordhorn, marking a key advancement for hydrogen availability in Twente. This partnership involves municipalities and organizations from both regions and aims to develop a regional hydrogen infrastructure.
The new connection will link to an existing Cogas pipeline at Denekamp, facilitating hydrogen transport to Twente companies and supporting industries that require high-temperature processes. The connection is scheduled for completion by the end of 2027. The signing took place at HyField, a new hydrogen testing and training facility in Enschede, which emphasizes Twente's ambition to become a leading hydrogen region.
