Collision of Two Loco Trains at THDC Hydropower Project in Uttarakhand Injures 60 Workers
A collision between two loco trains occurred at the Tehri Hydro Development Corporation (THDC) hydropower project in Chamoli district, Uttarakhand, resulting in injuries to 60 workers. There were 109 people onboard during the incident, which took place around 9:30 PM during a shift change. 42 individuals were admitted to the district hospital, while 17 were taken to Vivekananda Hospital in Pipalkoti.
THDC reported that 74 people have been discharged from the hospital, with 7-8 sustaining minor injuries. No fatalities were reported. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has instructed officials to ensure proper medical care for the injured and to refer them to higher medical centers if necessary. Authorities are monitoring the recovery of the injured workers.
