CollPlant Biotechnologies Ltd. (CLGN) has finalized an acquisition of LightSolver Ltd., an Israeli company focused on photonic computing, expected to close imminently. The transaction involves an equity-based structure, including 3.73 million newly issued ordinary shares and milestone-based warrants contingent on LightSolver meeting specific objectives.
LightSolver's Laser Processing Unit™ (LPU™) aims to solve complex computational tasks with enhanced speed and energy efficiency, targeting applications in aerospace, defense, and Physical AI. The LPU is projected to be commercially available by 2028 and will serve as a new computing layer alongside existing technologies. This acquisition positions CollPlant to tap into significant growth opportunities in supercomputing and photonics, while maintaining its core focus on regenerative medicine and medical aesthetics.
