The Colombian government has initiated a call for proposals (CfP) for low-emission hydrogen technology pilots in transport, industry, and power, part of its 2021 Hydrogen Roadmap. Open for 60 days, the CfP invites diverse participants to submit projects that can demonstrate carbon reduction, with the government offering up to 30% of capital expenditure through grants or loans.

The roadmap outlines a phased strategy: pilot projects from 2022 to 2025, scale-up hubs from 2026 to 2030, and export-ready production by 2031, targeting 500 MW of electrolysis capacity and 150,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually by 2030. Promigas S.A.

E.S.P. has begun pilot blending green hydrogen into its gas network, with support from local universities and banks. The CfP aims to ensure technical readiness and compliance with upcoming regulations, with results expected by Q2 2026, potentially leading to further tenders for electrolyser manufacturing.
