Colonia del Sacramento Begins Construction of First Wooden Office Building in Río de la Plata
Zona Franca del Plata has commenced construction on the first wooden office building in the Río de la Plata, backed by a $21 million investment and scheduled to open in late 2026. The five-story structure, designed for sustainability and energy efficiency, will cover 11,500 m² and accommodate around 100 companies, creating approximately 1,000 jobs. Developed by Atchugarry in collaboration with French firm Simonin, the building will feature flexible office spaces, a business center, and advanced eco-friendly systems.

Zona Franca del Plata has officially started the construction of the first wooden office building in the Río de la Plata, with an investment of US$ 21 million. Scheduled to open in late 2026, the project is strategically located at Rambla de las Américas and Eloy Perazza.
The building aims for sustainable growth, featuring advanced architecture, energy efficiency, and reduced carbon footprint. The construction is led by Atchugarry in partnership with French company Simonin, known for its expertise in wooden construction.
Utilizing mass timber technology, the building will have five floors, covering 11,500 m² with 8,900 m² available for lease, accommodating around 100 companies and creating approximately 1,000 jobs. It will include flexible offices, a business center, its own data center, a café, electric chargers, and water recycling systems, with an official opening planned for late 2026.
