Colusa Indian Energy Partners for AI Infrastructure Project in California
Colusa Indian Energy is partnering with Strata Expanse to develop an AI infrastructure project on tribal land in California. This initiative aims to diversify the local economy and create job opportunities in the region.

Colusa Indian Energy has entered a partnership with Strata Expanse to establish an AI infrastructure project on land leased from the Cachil Dehe Band of Wintun Indians. The initial phase will utilize several acres with plans to expand beyond 100 acres within 18 months.
This project is expected to generate jobs and utility sales while promoting a revenue share from the data center operations. The demand for data centers has intensified nationwide, leading to both opportunities and pushback from various communities, including tribal groups concerned about resource strain. Embracing AI development presents potential for workforce training in data center operations, although historically, such facilities offer fewer long-term jobs compared to traditional tech campuses.
