Colusa Indian Energy Proposes Columbia Basin Power Project in Quincy, Washington
Colusa Indian Energy is proposing the Columbia Basin Power Project in Quincy, Washington, to address energy shortages in Central Washington. The project aims to support existing and future industrial electricity needs, as the local transmission system is near capacity and unable to deliver additional power.
The partnership with the Port of Quincy focuses on a high-efficiency combined-cycle natural gas system that is hydrogen-capable, along with solar and battery integration. The project is not intended to replace local utilities but to provide additional capacity. Technical studies and permitting processes are expected to continue through 2026-2027, with public input opportunities planned.
