Commerzbank Signs Power Purchase Agreement with Mainova for Hydropower Supply
Commerzbank has signed a power purchase agreement with Mainova to source over half of its sustainable electricity from regional hydropower plants for two years starting January 1, 2026. The electricity will be supplied from run-of-river facilities in Frankfurt-Griesheim and Frankfurt-Eddersheim. This initiative is part of Commerzbank's corporate sustainability strategy and aligns with its Net-Zero goals.

Commerzbank has entered into a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Mainova to secure sustainable electricity from run-of-river hydropower plants, effective January 1, 2026. For two years, Commerzbank will obtain more than half of its electricity supply from Mainova, utilizing the full production capacity of facilities located in Frankfurt-Griesheim and Frankfurt-Eddersheim. This agreement supports Commerzbank's sustainability goals and reflects a commitment to regional and climate-focused energy sourcing.
