The Launch the North competition, administered by the Innovation for Defence Excellence and Security, has allocated $105 million in grants over three fiscal years. The funds are aimed at accelerating the development of Canadian-designed space launch vehicles and supporting technologies. The goal is to enable the launch of Canadian payloads from Canadian soil, with an initial operational capability for light lift projected by 2028.
