Completion of 7 Million Litre Reservoir Project in Mossel Bay
The Vaale Vallei Reservoir Project in Mossel Bay, costing nearly R45 million, has been completed, enhancing local water infrastructure. This project supports residential growth and aims at improving water security as per the 2030 Spatial Development Framework.

The Mossel Bay Municipality completed the Vaale Vallei Reservoir Project on 8 May, with a total investment of R45 million. The reservoir has a capacity of 7 million litres and is part of a broader water infrastructure network that includes various dams and a desalination plant, collectively providing over 80 million litres of water per day.
The project was initiated in 2021 and consists of three phases, with the first focusing on storage capacity and the last aimed at enhancing operational capacity in 2025/26. This investment addresses ongoing residential growth and aligns with the municipality's priority for water security by 2030.
