Completion of First Phase of $85.26M Overhaul at Lawton Wastewater Treatment Plant
The first phase of a three-phase renovation of Lawton's wastewater treatment plant has been completed at a cost of $85.26 million, following two years of work. The City Council approved a change order that reduced expenses by $83,341. While the project is substantially complete, minor tasks remain, including the replacement of damaged fiber optic cable and laying sod in disturbed areas, pending the growing season.

After two years, the first phase of the $85.26 million renovation of Lawton's 49-year-old wastewater treatment plant is complete. The City Council approved an $83,341 reduction in costs, finalizing the contract at $85,262,131. Although the project is now substantially complete, two minor tasks are outstanding: replacing damaged fiber optic cable and laying sod in areas disturbed during construction, which will be completed when the growing season allows.
