Congo's National Data Center to be Operational by May 2026, Funded by African Development Bank
The African Development Bank (BAD) confirms full funding for Congo's national data center, projected to be operational by May 2026. The project, valued at approximately €66.55 million, is primarily financed by BAD with €52.47 million, supplemented by €14.50 million from the Congolese government. The data center aims to ensure digital sovereignty and includes 600 km of optical fiber connections with Cameroon and Central African Republic.

The African Development Bank (BAD) announced that funding is secured for Congo's national data center, set to be operational by May 2026. The project requires an investment of about €66.55 million, with BAD contributing €52.47 million and the Congolese government providing €14.50 million.
The infrastructure will house critical data to support digital sovereignty and includes 600 km of fiber optic connections to Cameroon and Central African Republic. The center comprises a three-level building with server rooms, monitoring facilities, and technical spaces for energy and climate control.
