Construction at Schriever Space Force Base to Impact Traffic Through Spring and Summer
Construction at Schriever Space Force Base's north gate begins on Monday, causing longer commute times and increased traffic congestion. Most inbound traffic will be redirected to the west gate, with temporary traffic signals in place. The north gate will operate with one lane in each direction during weekdays and will be closed outside of operating hours. The construction aims to enhance base security and includes building a turnaround lane for personnel.

Construction at Schriever Space Force Base's north gate starts Monday, leading to longer commute times and heavier traffic congestion. Inbound traffic will be mostly redirected to the west gate, with a temporary traffic signal at the Curtis/Irwin intersection.
Between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m., all west gate lanes will be inbound only. The north gate will operate with one lane in each direction on weekdays from 4:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will be closed at other times. The work includes a turnaround lane for personnel to retrieve forgotten IDs and aims to enhance base security.
