Construction has commenced on the $3 billion Meitner data center in Pampa, Texas, tied to Intersect, an energy company acquired by Google. The project, which broke ground in December, includes three 750,000 square foot buildings, with the first expected to be completed soon.
The center will create up to 30 jobs per building, with an anticipated 400-500 affiliated jobs. The project aims to enhance local trade and career training, and is projected to increase Gray County's tax base from $1.6 billion to $4.6 billion over 10 years.
