Construction Commences on $3 Billion Wind Farm Near Quebec City
The Des Neiges wind farm project marks a $3 billion investment aimed at enhancing renewable energy capacity in the region. With an initial output of 800 MW, it will support Hydro-Québec's long-term wind power goals.

Construction has officially commenced on the Des Neiges wind farm, requiring a $3 billion investment. The project, developed by Boralex and Énergir, will initially feature 114 turbines capable of producing 800 Megawatts of energy, sufficient for 140,000 homes.
Located in the Charlevoix region, the farm is situated on the Séminaire de Québec grounds. A potential third phase could increase the total output to 1,200 Megawatts, assisting Hydro-Québec in achieving its target of 10,000 MW of wind energy by 2035. This expansion reflects a growing commitment to renewable energy sources in Quebec.
