Construction of Bulgaria's First Vanadium Battery Factory Initiated
Bulgaria launches its first vanadium redox flow battery factory with over EUR 20 million investment. This facility will introduce the world's first automated production line for vanadium batteries, enhancing energy storage solutions.

Construction has commenced on Bulgaria's inaugural vanadium redox flow battery factory in Stara Zagora, with an investment exceeding EUR 20 million. This facility will feature the world's first automated production line for vanadium batteries, targeting long-duration energy storage applications.
The project aims to offer an alternative to traditional pumped-storage hydropower, reducing construction timelines for energy storage systems. Additionally, the development is poised to stimulate economic growth by attracting investments and generating quality jobs within the Zagore Industrial Zone. Future phases will involve expanding the industrial zone on the site of a former airport.
