Corning Licenses PRIZM® TMT Technology to Enhance AI Data Center Connectivity

DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE

Corning Incorporated has partnered with US Conec to license PRIZM® TMT optical ferrule technology, which facilitates higher fiber counts in tighter spaces within data centers. This initiative supports the increasing demands of AI infrastructure, where more accelerators need to be connected as cluster sizes expand.

The adoption of optical connectivity is replacing traditional copper links, leading to thousands of fibers per server rack. The PRIZM® TMT ferrule uses precision-aligned microlenses for improved installation speed, contamination resistance, and reduced ownership costs. Corning will present this technology at the 2026 Optical Fiber Communication Conference in Los Angeles, California.
