Corrective Intervention Restores Stability in 40MW Hydropower Turbogenerator
In March 2025, RES's Hydro team restored operation of a 40MW turbogenerator after identifying misalignment as the cause of elevated vibrations. The intervention ensured uninterrupted generation and improved long-term asset reliability.

In March 2025, a 40MW hydropower plant engaged RES to assess abnormal vibration levels in a turbogenerator. Following on-site measurements, RES conducted a two-week analysis, identifying misalignment as the root cause.
A six-week corrective intervention was executed, involving partial disassembly and high-precision realignment without production loss. Post-intervention, vibration levels were restored within OEM tolerances, ensuring stable operation. This project underscores the need for specialized engineering in addressing mechanical issues in hydropower, emphasizing the importance of precise execution in operational environments to maintain generation stability and asset reliability.
