Cosmic PV Power has established a 1.6 GW solar module manufacturing line in Gujarat. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) expanded the ALMM solar module capacity by 17,268 MW, bringing the total to 162,109 MW.

Proposed amendments include the creation of an ALMM List-III for wafers and mandates for sourcing modules and cells from designated ALMM lists. The MNRE advised caution for financial institutions financing new solar module facilities and directed the cancellation of tenders that circumvent ALMM requirements. Renewable projects for green hydrogen and ammonia developers are exempt from using ALMM List-II solar cells.
