Costain has extended its managed service provider contract with United Utilities for three years, ensuring continued support for the AMP8 regulatory period. This extension brings the total partnership duration to a decade, highlighting Costain's role in managing capital maintenance projects in North West England.

Costain's contract extension with United Utilities will last three years, completing a 10-year partnership through AMP8, which spans 2025 to 2030. This managed service provider framework, initiated in 2019, encompasses the execution of capital maintenance projects in water, wastewater, and bioresources.
Since its inception, Costain has executed over 900 maintenance projects and approximately 9,000 responsive activities, leveraging a workforce of more than 120 engineers. The program has enabled United Utilities to surpass 160 regulatory commitments ahead of schedule.
During the AMP8 period, United Utilities is set to invest £13.5bn to enhance infrastructure, with Costain also participating in the Enterprise delivery arrangement for wastewater treatment upgrades. This extension includes a potential for further collaboration into AMP9, concluding in 2035, ensuring long-term support.
