Cowboy Space Corporation Secures $275M Series B for Orbital AI Infrastructure
Cowboy Space Corporation has raised $275 million in Series B financing, achieving a valuation of $2 billion. This funding will accelerate the development of vertically integrated infrastructure for AI compute in space, addressing the growing demands on terrestrial data centers.
Cowboy Space Corporation has completed a $275 million Series B funding round, reaching a $2 billion valuation. Led by Index Ventures, with participation from IVP, Blossom Capital, and others, this financing will support the development of a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites and a purpose-built launch vehicle.
Each rocket's upper stage will function as a one-megawatt data center, optimizing power and compute efficiency. The company is collaborating with NVIDIA to deploy specialized hardware for space-based AI workloads.
Cowboy's first satellite launch is planned for later this year to demonstrate space-to-Earth power beaming. The push for orbital AI infrastructure comes as demand for terrestrial data centers strains under increasing AI workloads, presenting both opportunities and challenges for scalability and economic viability.
