CRAB Startup to Deploy AI Waste Tracking Technology in Luxembourg's Smart City Initiative
CRAB, a circular economy startup, is set to deploy AI waste tracking technology in Luxembourg through a collaboration with the Ministry of Economy and Ville de Differdange. The technology aims to optimize urban cleanliness by improving cleaning routes and engaging citizens. CRAB joined the University of Luxembourg Incubator in July 2024 and has since signed an IP licensing agreement, positioning itself as a potential University spin-off. The startup is also part of the Fit4Start acceleration programme and seeks additional partners.

CRAB, a circular economy startup, is preparing to deploy its AI waste tracking technology in Luxembourg as part of the Smart City initiative led by the Ministry of Economy and Ville de Differdange. The solution aims to optimize cleaning routes and engage citizens in urban cleanliness efforts.
Founded in July 2024 within the University of Luxembourg Incubator, CRAB received initial support and is staffed by former students. In June 2025, CRAB signed an IP licensing agreement with the University, progressing towards becoming a spin-off. The startup is also participating in the Fit4Start acceleration programme and is actively seeking partners to enhance its AI vision detection systems.
